Graduate Web Developer

We're looking for a Graduate Web Developer with the following core skills:

• A basic understanding of object-oriented PHP
• A basic understanding of networks, and how they relate to web applications, eg domains, LAN/WAN, firewalls
• Problem solving
• Demonstrable passion for programming, and an ability to learn quickly

You may also be able to demonstrate experience with:

• HTML/CSS
• PHP application frameworks such as CakePHP, Laravel, etc
• Version control software, e.g. Git, SVN
• Test driven development
• Relational database design, development and deployment
• Cloud computing and linux server setup and administration/tuning for performance

You'll be involved with the following work:

• Loans pingtree that handles around 1M UK loan applications per month
• Customer data management and reporting systems that interface with many other systems including UK phone networks, email service providers, and credit reference agencies.
• Loan websites, loan application customer journey and UX
• Loan marketing and campaign operation via email, SMS and web push

We offer a friendly office environment in the centre of Bridgend within just a short walk from the bus and train stations, and close to the M4. Commutable from Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.

What the role offers

• Salary: £18,000 - 22,000
• 40 hours per week flexi-time, with home working available once you are established
• Flat hierarchy, work directly with management and decision makers with short release cycles
