Development Team Lead

We're looking for a Software Development Team Lead with 4+ years relevent experience and the following core skills:

• HTML/CSS/JS
• Object-oriented PHP in a production environment
• Object-oriented Java in a production environment
• Experience of modern JavaScript framework(s) such as JQuery, Angular, React
• In-depth understanding of relational databases with experience in some SQL variant, e.g. MySQL/MSSQL/Postgres
• An excellent understanding of networks, and how they relate to web applications, eg domains, LAN/WAN
• Problem solving

You may also be able to demonstrate experience with:

• PHP application frameworks such as CakePHP, Laravel, etc
• Version control software, e.g. Git, SVN
• Test driven development
• Project management and direct management of developers
• Cloud computing and linux server setup and administration/tuning for performance

You'll be involved with the following work:

• Loans pingtree that handles around 1M UK loan applications per month
• Customer data management and reporting systems that interface with many other systems including UK phone networks, email service providers, and credit reference agencies.
• 75% operations / 25% research and development within the internet marketing field. We strive to be at the forefront of our space and are willing to try new ideas, for which you will have a lot of influence on what we work on, and how we implement it.

We offer a friendly office environment in the centre of Bridgend within just a short walk from the bus and train stations, and close to the M4. Commutable from Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.

What the role offers

• Salary: £29,000 - £40,000
• 40 hours per week flexi-time, with home working available once you are established
• Flat hierarchy, work directly with management and decision makers with short release cycles
